Spring and early summer
At this time of year everything is lush and verdant and the
countryside is carpeted 
with wild flowers and the woods are
full of fireflies. The temperature is around the mid 20s so ideal
for delicate British skins unable to cope with August's heat and
sun. The food markets are full of spring vegetables such as
asparagus and artichokes, peas and broad beans and it is an ideal
time for sight seeing or hiking in the wonderful mountains and
nature reserves of the area. The evenings are long with velvet,
star filled nights.

High Summer
This is party time with Italy at its most dolce
vita. There are festas almost every weekend and fireworks on the
other side of the bay most nights. This is the time to see the
beautiful people in their yachts in the port or making the
"passegiato" in the old town whilst enjoying one of a variety of
home made icecreams. Ideal for bbq dinners by the pool, with
showers of shooting stars every night. The sea is crystal clear,
wonderful for snorkelling or hiring a boat for the day. The local
tomatoes, peaches and figs are at their sun ripened, most
delicious.

Late summer and early autumn
After the school holidays everything calms down again, the sea
is amazingly warm 
after months of sunshine,
and the air temperature is a little cooler, around the high 20s to
mid 20s. There are wild mushrooms, chestnuts, squash, wild
blackberries and the festa of our own village on the 1st October
mean they close the main road and have a party in the village
square. Towards the end of October it might even be cool enough at
night to have a log fire in the big, open fireplace but it's
definitely hot enough for outside lunches, swimming and sun
bathing. An ideal half term location.
